Question # 1 :    Why don't you "just get a job", and "get to work" ?

Short  Answer :   Who says I don't have a job ?  Who says I'm not working ?  The truth is, I AM working !  And, I have been working all these years throughout

this time that I have been homeless !

Long  Answer :  See, Theological Reflections # 7.  ( Actually, the long answer is already written; but, it is numerous pages long, and so, it will take me awhile

to get it all typed-up and posted. So, check back at this website, from time to time, and -- hopefully -- it will be here soon.)

Question # 2 :    Wouldn't you agree that most homeless people are really choosing to be homeless; and, therefore, isn't it true that you (also) are

really just choosing to be homeless ?

Answer :   No. I believe that that is one of the classic myths about homelessness -- that it is, in fact, an utterly false statement to say that "most homeless

people are choosing to be homeless".  And, I say this despite the fact that I have met numerous homeless individuals who have actually come right out

and said to me, "I choose to be homeless !" For you can always find some individuals who will make that claim.  Just as, in the past, there were "mountain men"

who felt too constrained by "life in the 'civilized cities in the east'", and so they chose to move out west, to the frontier, to the plains, to the mountains, to live out

in the wild, closer to nature, etc. So, sure, you can always find some homeless individuals, living on city streets all across America, today, who will tell you that they

are choosing to be homeless; but, I believe the vast majority of homeless people don't want to be homeless at all, and have certainly not chosen to be homeless.
